I used to consider conceit to be the most disgusting feature of the Christian god Jesus Christ. However, I’ve changed my mind recently. Now I’m convinced that the most repugnant in Jesus was his hypocrisy, the most conspicuous quality of Christianity.
I have already written a lot about Jesus’ peculiarities that are never noticed by Christians despite being repeatedly reported in the Gospels – e.g.. Here I just want to recall the most revolting case.
Christians always stress that their god taught love, compassion and forgiveness, even to one’s enemies. Indeed, the Gospels are full of episodes that depict Jesus preaching humanistic values. For instance:
But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return; and your reward in heaven will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High; for He Himself is kind to ungrateful and evil men. ( Luke 6:35)
In public, Jesus always played a noble humanist
But love your enemies, and do good, and lend...
There were many other cases reported in the Gospels when Jesus Christ called to love each another, forgive wrongdoings of others, etc. They are widely advertised and often cited by Christian priests.
After his desecration of the Temple of Jerusalem, when it was clear that he was going to be severely punished for his blasphemy against Judaism, the Christian god revealed his actual intentions to his followers.
Do not think that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I have not come to bring peace, but a sword. For I have come to set a man against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law. (Matthew, 10:34,35)
And when they bring you to trial and deliver you over, do not be anxious beforehand what you are to say, but say whatever is given you in that hour, for it is not you who speak, but the Holy Spirit. And brother will deliver brother over to death, and the father his child, and children will rise against parents and have them put to death. (Mark, 13:11,12)
It’s clear that it was both a confession and an order. Jesus intended to become a true messiah, canvass the Jewish nation, and capture power in Palestine by force. All that humanistic preaching to the general public was intended to make Jesus look saint in the eyes of the rank and file Jews and convince them to follow their prophet unconditionally.
Most probably, Jesus expected to gather crowds of pious followers and start a revolution to liberate Palestine from the rule of Romans. However, his skills as of prophet-illusionist, that made Jesus popular among uneducated Jews in the province, failed in Jerusalem, the capital of Palestine, where apparently there were tens of alike conjurers.
Demoralised by lack of public reaction to his arrival in Jerusalem, Jesus tried to start public unrest by personally committing violence in the Temple of Jerusalem. When this failed, it became evident that the Christian god wasn’t capable of implementing his ‘mission’ himself.
As the inevitable arrest was approaching, Jesus had to reveal his true intentions solely to his disciples instead of the crowds of faithful followers he had planned to summon.
So, the Gospels tell us a story of a desperate Jew who tried to attract followers he needed to bring to life his bloody plans by pretending to be a great humanist. Though Jesus himself failed, Christians took on that brilliant idea of their god.
Virtually all the history of Christianity is a history of horrible crimes brazenly justified by humanistic ideas. Under the aegis of love, Christians destroyed practically everything humanitarian that was created in Europe by the Greek-Roman civilisation – its recovery started only with the Renaissance, almost a millennium after that.
My ancestors were helpless against the great invention of Jesus Christ – hypocrisy in the name of the Christian god, the culture of Jekyll and Hyde turned into the fundamental principle of the Christian civilisation. They permitted Christians to settle in Lithuania, consolidate their influence and consequently were enslaved for centuries as hundreds of other European nations.
Christians have destroyed hundreds of civilisations and cultures across the world, exterminated thousands of nations. Every time they were raping, torturing and killing, Christians preached the same fables that their god once invented in order to enchant Palestinians.
Such a cunning strategy gave Christians a huge advantage over their victims. When Christians first approached new countries, they only spoke in terms of humanism. Thence Christians quickly gained the trust of other people, who had no reason to suspect them of hypocrisy.
The true intentions of Christians were revealed to their victims only when the first were strong enough to seize power. Then Christians took aside all their humanistic blah-blah-blah, destroyed the temples of the indigenous gods, and murdered everybody who didn’t agree, at least publicly, to convert to Christianity.
It was how Christians managed to conquer the great deal of the Earth. Deceit, insidious sermons followed by ruthless extermination of everything related to the Euronian faith once happened to my country, Lithuania, as well.
My ancestors were helpless against the great invention of Jesus Christ – hypocrisy in the name of the Christian god, the culture of Jekyll and Hyde turned into the main principle of the Christian civilisation. They permitted Christians to settle in Lithuania, consolidate their influence and consequently were enslaved for centuries as hundreds of other European nations.
These days Christians often weep crocodile tears over the crimes they have committed over millennia. However, nothing has really changed. The modern Christian culture is firmly built on the same concept of public image that was invented by Jesus Christ.
As they have been doing for many centuries, Christians continue stealing from the weak, torturing and murdering millions of people the whole world around, and they never stop preaching about human rights, democracy, and other abstract values in exactly the same manner their god did it two thousand years ago.
Billions of modern Jesi spend their lives trying to manipulate others by telling them subtle lies. The ability to dupe large numbers of people into buying, voting or killing is glorified as a great virtue, even a kind of art in Europe and Americas.
As a Lithuan and Euronian, I cannot just calmly watch the Christian culture of hypocrisy, deceit and manipulation destroying my country and the whole Europe. And I cannot put up without a fight with the total domination of the cult of the god-hypocrite who once invented it.
Isn’t it disgusting?
